KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Pony Club Race Day At Lingfield

back
KBIS British Equestrian Insurance Pony Club Race Day At LingfieldResults are in from the Pony Club Race day at Lingfield, sponsored by KBIS British Equestrian Insurance, on Wednesday 30 May 2007- with pressure rising as there’s only one more qualifier to go before the final at Aintree in October.

There was full support from all the local Clubs with weather on their side. The enthusiasm and adrenaline from all the young jockeys, who were clearly thrilled to be racing on such a well-known track, was great to see.

Chairman of the Pony Club Racing Committee, Joey Newton, said: “Pony Club Racing Days are a new venture for the Pony Club. We want to give club members a go at racing and provide them with the essential skills they would need if they decided to pursue a career in racing.

After encouraging our members to attend specific racing rallies and training days, all of their efforts are put to the test in the final races.”

Pony Club Racing is attracting a great deal of interest and has become an exciting addition to the sporting disciplines within The Pony Club.

Everyone had a great time especially all the winners including Charlotte Bass riding Rocca Showboat and Isabelle Smith riding Gem, in The ‘Fishing at Frant Lakes’ Stakes- ponies 138cm and Under.

Other winners included Chloe Willet riding New Oak Second Thoughts from Ashford Valley Pony Club in The South East Point to Point Supporters Race-Ponies 138cm and Under.

The third race, Bill Kear Plant & Agricultural Contractors Ltd Sprint- Ponies 139cm and Under, was won by a Puckeridge Western Pony Club member, Bridget Andrew riding Clonross Star.

Freddy Mitchell, from Mid Surrey Pony Club successfully rode Bob III, winning The Mayfield Press Stakes- Ponies 148cm and Under.

The Treehouse Sporting Colours Race-Ponies 148cm and Under, was won by Attymac from the Eridge Pony Club, ridden by Harriet Colderick.

The final race of the day was successfully won by Puckeridge Western Pony Club member Georgina Andrews, riding Pepsi, in The Picnic Anywhere Ltd Sprint- Ponies 148cm and Under.

Great success had by all!
